Hello, i'm after some advice as I know so many other women have been in the same situation
I've been to the doctors regarding my periods as I am concerned I have endometriosis or something along those lines and the doctor showed no interest and was really patronising. She ended up prescribing me with painkillers and acid but told me to 'suppress the symptoms' and completely dismissed my concerns about potential fertility issues in the future.
What should I do going forward?

That’s what NHS Drs do. Please don’t give up and chase them until you get diagnosed. I had many symptoms including constant constipation with mucus for years, they kept giving me laxatives. I had many other symptoms including blood in my stool, heavy and painful periods and etc but they ignored my symptoms till now that I’ve been told I have to do a hysterectomy, remove my rectum and some parts of my bowel. Hopefully yours is not Endrometriosis or it’s at early stages but please chase them and get diagnosed.
YES!!! Took me 4 years of fighting but I let the GP dismiss me for 3 years until got sent to a gynae and they found widespread Endo. ‘Oh you have a lot’ the gyane said to me post laporoscopy. I know it’s hard but be pushy and fight your corner. You know your pain and your body xxx
Sorry you've had this experience, it really is so frustrating. If you aren't happy with the outcome and are (rightfully) concerned about fertility, I would go and see another doctor for a different opinion.
I've been to many, many doctors over the years and have been brushed off with "it's just a bad period". It wasn't until I started getting bad bowel symptoms that I was taken seriously and sent for scans which showed extensive deep infiltrating endo. I'm now starting the process of freezing my eggs prior to having surgery as there's a risk to my ovaries. I wish I had pushed harder years ago at the doctors so please don't give up on advocating for yourself! Even if it isn't endometriosis, suppressing your symptoms is not getting to the cause of the problems and is quite frankly lazy of the doctor! Wishing you all the best.
