Next step is apparently hysterectomy?

Just seen specialist consultant who did my excision operation for stage 4 endo in May. He discharged me and said next stage would be hysterectomy when my pain becomes unbearable again. How long till that might happen I'm wondering. But depressing news but I guess to be expected?

How is your pain now? I had my lap in May as well and was told the same thing. Wondering if the pain I’m still experiencing is from healing or if it’s just my new norm. Sorry I couldn’t answer your question, but wanted to at least reassure you that you’re not alone!

Hi Apricottree,

I had a laproscopic surgery in April 2023 ,to take a biopsy of a burst endometrioma and it turned I have stage 4 Endometriosis which they cut out everywhere so the surgeon told me as I'm on late Perimenopause, I may not need another surgery. Well guess what the pain and symptoms never went away after the operation and not only did not make a difference but it turned I had Sibo,Streptococcus B,Ureplasma and Bacterious Vaginosis since the operation. My surgeon believes that I have aggressive form of Endometriosis and even He cut out everything He sees, my next stage is Full Hysterectomy with removal of the ovaries. Unfortunately He can't promise this will stop my chronic pain, bloating and fatigue(24 hrs a day for the last 2,5 years),but this is the last hope and I'm planning to do it this year, as early as possible if they can do it. I start having all this Endometriosis problems when I entered the Perimenopause, everything changed and tried HRT,but result in an aggressive fibroid which need it to be removed, so I had to stop the HRT. To be honest I'm all for full hysterectomy if that will help me to return at least 80% of my life. I'm 44 and already had kids,so I guess have not other option. This decision is all upto everyone individually. I will post again here ones have the appointment with the surgeon to discuss my last resort. Hopefully you will be pain free for longer.Sending xxx
