Inflammed and dry V

Hey everyone, sorry, I don't usually like over-sharing, but GP doesn't seem to be understanding or willing to listen, ever since I had the depo injection in Jan2023 (fyi did not get another one since) i keep getting recurring infection/thrush... i get no/very little discharge, always dry which leads to itching and bad inflammation to the point where I waddle instead of walk. GP keeps trying to put the blame on "intamacy/partner" but it's 100% not and I'm a clean person... has anyone else experienced this? Or have any tips? I hate going to the GP and repeatedly doing a urine sample and swab tests... I'm sick of it 😞

You poor thing. I've had something similar just before I started getting my pelvic symptoms 2 years. It can be due to hormonal changes. I eventually went private and was diagnosed with Vulvodynia. I was advised to take Amitriptyline. Wash only with an gentle emollient and use Yes vaginal moisturiser. The washing and moisturiser definitely helped. Have you ever had Zoladex or Prostap? X

Hey lovely x i haven't been prescribed anything yet as I hate going to GPs as they tend to know little to nothing and it really gets on my nerves... and yes I've tried prostap... I reacted very bad to it, suffered from incontinence for a good 5months! I do think I've got hormonal imbalance as I have gained weight over last few months and cannot sleep much either :(

Dr Wolf's V SAN, I bought for this as I went for a similar thing before I was diagnosed, it helped and I've not had it as bad since. But GPs don't help with it all just look for blame no solution that's what I found. Hope you get sorted.

Agree! GPs love blaming us for something we've done wrong, they especially jump at if you don't drink "2 litres" of water everyday... which I find so pathetic... like google could have told me that! And thank you I will try the V SAN, hopefully it works xx

Hi, I can’t recommend Vagisil range enough .7 years it took for me to be diagnosed and it was through private they biopsied and said chronic inflammation fromVulvodynia and vestibular i couldn’t walk sit stand lay ,it consumes every minute of the day ,I was getting fobbed of with thrush treatments which were making it worse .It was made worse 7 months ago with surgical menopause and they put me on amitrypline ,it’s eased it but hasn’t took it away . Also hydromol if u bathe ,it’s greasy but if u bathe its softens the area..Stop using anything other than a vaginal feminine range ,no scented wipes ,toilet rolls or Sanitry products .Hope you find relief soon.

Thank you lovely! Vagisil is hit and miss for me and yes I would agree, medically induced menopause makes all this worse! I don't understand why GPs or consultants don't tell us this! And thank you will try hydromol, I've googled this, and can only seem to get it online from tbe likes of amazon?

I wonder if its changed name !I used to buy it in boots or a chemist, epaderm is the same if that’s easier to find..My consultant really didn’t prepare me for surgical menopause,I’m not allowed HRT either ,completely left to find my own solutions. I hope you find some relief soon.

I swear they know nothing, it's like when we go in we need to educate them! In that case I think they owe us their salaries lol and sorry last question my lovely, the epaderm, can I just apply it directly to my V? Like how I would moisturise any part of my body?

Aha we definitely should get their wages .No bother at all ,I wish I knew about this page years ago,it’s great support..Its just to be used in shower or bath as a wash ,if vagisil doesn’t work ,I go between the two .its greasy so be careful if u use it in the shower might make it slippy .Have you tried the internal vagisil or replenish ,I find that using both internal and external gives a bit of relief.I have had so many products in trial and error and some have me kissing the ceiling ,so I have stuck with vagisil ,replenish and epaderm and I use ,always cotton panty liners never just my knickers ☺️ .

Thank you so much! I will definitely give it a go, and I can't use any panty liners or sanitary products as they give me thrush and start all this :(
