I have recently had a new endo diagnosis and have so many questions about next steps! It may not be anything anyone can advise on but thought I’d try anyway.
I had a transvaginal scan a few months ago and they have said the results are likely in keeping with deep infiltrating endometriosis in the retro cervical area, left endometrioma and a endometrial polyp. My symptoms are horrific, if it’s not constant physical pain it’s horrendous fatigue along with the most annoying brain fog. The list is endless!
I have an appointment with the endometriosis clinic in December, but just wondered if anyone knows what next steps are?
will they need to perform a lap to ensure the diagnosis is correct? Or will it just be straight to treatment? If so, there are many personal and health reasons I don’t currently want to go on contraception, so will the next steps be a lap for treatment?
Any advice or info would be so greatly received!!
Thanks in advance 😊

Hi there, at my Endo clinic they answered lots of my questions & explained my options i.e. contraception, surgery, hysterectomy or just waiting. It is entirely up to you how you want to proceed. You don’t have to make your mind up straight away. I didnt initially want surgery or hormonal treatment but opted to go for both later but that just delayed me being added to the waiting list for surgery.
Even if you initially opt for one option & change your mind later, it is totally okay.
I don't have much advice because I'm in a similar situation at the minute, from the research I've done I think excision surgery would be the best option for me, is that how you feel?
I have a few reasons why I don't want to use hormonal treatments but I feel the doctors will try to push that on me anyway, judging by other people's experiences.
I've feel I've had to fight all my doctors to get them to listen and point me in the right direction and I'm scared that my first gynae appointment is going to be the same 😫
Yeah that’s what I think my best option is too! And yes you’re right doctors always do push hormonal treatments and it drives me crazy! I’m just going to stick to my decision on that one.
I’m just worried about wait times for surgery 😫 I keep hearing it’s ridiculous wait times which is making me really nervous!
Yeah I've heard the waiting times can be crazy as well which is why I want to be put on the list asap but I've also heard they will try to push everything else first and leave surgery as a last resort
I don't really want to be filling my body full of meds and hormones but I might not have much choice 😩
