Dienogest and letrozole

Hi all,

Could I get some advise please. I have been suffering from endometriosis. I had a recent MRI and ultrasound done few weeks back and they found deep infiltrating endometriosis in some areas, around perineum to be exact and a very tiny cyst on my left ovary. I had a 2nd laparoscopy a year ago and symptoms started coming back again. Even though the new scans doesn't show so my endometriosis the pain is just out of this world. Severe pain with heavy bleeding.

I was prescribed dienogest and letrozole to be taken together. It's been 2 weeks now and I had my first periods. The first week of my periods was ok not much pain or heavy bleeding so thought the medicine was working. But the next week my pain and bleeding came back twice the severity before taking the medicines. Have any of you experienced this before? Does it take time on the meds to see some significant results? Also side effects from the medicines are really bad too.. Headache, severe mood swings, depression etc etc

I'm known to be hormone medicine resistant like the Mirena coil and other contraceptive never worked for me. So I'm not sure if this is the same effect for the new medicines as well .

Does someone relate to this problem. Any advice? Should I give the benefit of doubt and try for a couple months?

I have never heard of letrozole for endometriosis my mum was given that as a 5 year treatment following breast cancer as it’s an oestrogen blocker……most people are usually put on the progesterone only like the mini pill or the coil or put on zoleadex to replicate menopause xx
