so over 3 months ago I was in hospital long story short I got told I have a ovarian cyst, now I have gone back for the follow up ultrasound and it’s still there and has grown it’s now around 5-6cm’s my question is, how long do people usually wait for them to do something about it on the NHS?
thank you 😊

hey, I had a similar thing and I was told that unless it was bothering me they won’t do much. The NHS was ready to dismiss my case but I had symptoms and I had to push to get seen by a new gyno and and MRI. Good job I did, turned out I had a second one hiding and had a laparoscopy cysteroctomy a month ago.
I’d say if you feel like something is wrong with your body trust your gut and push for further exams. It took me 4 years to be seen or believed for that matter.
Is the cyst causing you noticeable changes? Like more bloating, swollen leg and ankles, etc?
Did they say which type of cyst it was, simple, blood filled or endometrioma? This may determine what they do about it in my experience. If it's an endometrioma then I was told it's unlikely to go away by itself as that's endo tissue and if it bursts could cause a load of problems.
