Weight Loss?

Hi everyone, looking for some advice!I've been trying to get a diagnosis for 3 years now and I've been told that they won't do the laparoscopy until I lose weight. Since my issues started, I've put on five stone, and no matter what I do it continues to pile on. Exercise is very limited, I have a knee that tends to dislocate on top of the usual endo pains caused by any form of exercise. I've tried multiple types of diets, eating more calories, eating less, weight watchers, slimming world, I also tried intermitting fasting but it made me feel really nauseous and lightheaded. Any advice would be amazing thank you!! X

personally, I hate all these “fad” diets and intermittent fasting schemes - In the long run they won’t work. The way to loose weight is to burn more calories than you put in. That’s just biology. Given people with PCOS/endo it can be harder. You can go online and find out what your maintenance calories are. Then you can use apps like my fitness pal to track the foods you eat. It means you can still eat all the good stuff you enjoy.

You could also see your GP about wanting to loose weight they could offer you a diet plan or dietician referral?

Also look at low impact workouts on YouTube / I bet they even have ones where you can stay sat down!

No weight loss journey is quick it can take a long time to get the results you want. I’ve taken about 3 months to loose 1 stone but it’s doable with consistency.

Thank you so much!

I also hate the fad diets. I usually lose a few pounds the first week and then that's it, the weight goes back on even though I'm sticking to the diet! I went to a personal trainer before and she had me eat a lot more calories. I took protein shakes as well but I was gagging taking them so I had to stop. I done low impact weight lifting and I lost a stone in a month, but the pain I was in for days just wasn't worth it plus it was £200 every 6 weeks for the personal trainer.

My GP eventually referred me to weight management over a year ago and I had to beg and plead and sob because he told me I wasn't trying hard enough to lose weight (even though I'm literally obsessing about the calories I put in to my body). I had one telephone appointment with them in march and they advised their process is that I need to speak to their psychologist to be approved before I can attend the groups, but I'm still on the waiting list for that. It's breaking my heart the weight I'm continuously putting on and I just feel like I'm not believed and that NHS doesn't care - the gyno told me to try slimming world to lose weight even though I explained these diets don't work for me and also that they don't understand I have an underactive thyroid and I'm constantly pumped with medication that puts weight on me. I'm just so desperate to lose weight
