adhesions advice please

Hi all i recently just had surgery a week ago, and found adhesions and endo etc..

what made me have this op was the pain when eating which i now know was caused by adhesions which forced me to stop eating & was placed on a feeding tube for 9 weeks but i literally had to starve for 8 weeks prior as NhS refused to give me nutrition which has honestly traumatised the living hell outa me

The last few days ive noticed the pain getting worse n worse n honestly im just terrified now that these adhesions are just forming back already.

My partner keeps telling me not to worry n im just healing etc.

but i cant not worry lol...

Has anyone had adhesions removed from the bowel area ? Would the pain still be in same place n do i just need to give myself more time to heal? Or is it likely its formed back straight away?,

I wouldnt even know how to live or have a standard of life with adhesions growing back i literally wouldnt be able to afford to go through another operation so soon & there'd be no point if it starts to form a week later.

How do ppl have a life?,

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thank you xx

Hi,

While it is an unfortunate fact that in 60% of cases the adhesions do grow back, no way could it happen in a week. I had all my endo removed about 10 months ago and have only recently started to experience some minor pain again. Kinda gutting since I hoped it wouldn’t come come back but felt a hundred times better than I did.

I’m with your partner on this one, I think you do need to give yourself some time. Although telling you not to worry isn’t helpful (been told that plenty of times myself 🙄)

Anyway, hope you feel better soon and are endo free for a while at least x

It might be worth seeing if you can get a referral to a ‘women’s health’ physio, as they can give exercises that will help reduce the risk of more scar tissue forming.

I had adhesions that were almost completely obstructing the tubes from my kidney to my bladder. I can empathise with the anxiety of them coming back. I hope your recovery continues to improve xx
