had an ultrasound yesterday with a specialist consultant radiologist and she could see the endo from the scan and also adhesions formed again. Iāve had 3 surgeries already. Has anyoneās surgeons come up with new ideas or tried anything thatās worked to keep the adhesions at bay, or not luck at all?
I just donāt know what else they can do, I am in so much pain with it they will just have to separate them again but Iām worried it will just keep sticking back together.
Any help/advice/support would be greatly appreciated!!

My second surgeon put a ābarrierā in the spots where she thought they would form. I donāt think they have worked 100% but Iām much better than I was as before I would get stabbing pains whenever I walked or stood up straight. It use to bring me to my knees (literally) and now itās just a constant pulling/uncomfortable feeling. Sorry I couldnāt be of more help xx
I always say intolerance to latex as this can encourage adhesions. Unfortunately more surgeries you have more chance of adhesions, that's why I opted for hysterectomy rather than surgeries to remove endo every 2yrs. They used to say cutting into my father was like shark infested waters as adhesions all over from numerous surgeries.
Hi there. I had surgery in march for suspected endo and all they found were adhesions which they removed but I am still in pain and for more days each month (now 18 days when it used to be 10). I am due for another surgery and I am looking for answers as to how to avoid adhesions as well. I was googling around and there are all sorts of adhesion barriers and sprays that can be used during surgery. Apparently some surgeons like, some say they don't make a difference, and one surgeon I interviewed say they make things worse. I am doing more research on this and if I found out more I will let you know. Likewise - though I am not sure it makes a difference - they can go right back a day or two after surgery (I know this sounds awful) and see if adhesions are forming and then cut them which might prevent re-growth. And finally I have heard there are some pelvic pts that specialize in abdominal massages to break up post-surgery adhesions. Look up the Wurn technique and see what you think. I am not sure but at least its something.
Hi, thanks for all the super replies. I am being booked in for surgery with two consultants operating and they are going to try their best to sort the adhesions and put some of the gel type stuff you can put in after to try help prevent further adhesions. I feel a bit better knowing how good these surgeons are. š¤š¼
They do donāt they! I am having a new team this time and they are more specialist so I feel a bit better about them doing it. My other surgeon has been great but isnāt a bsge specialist so time for a new fresh team and hopefully to feeling much better!!
