what to do...

I am currently on a waiting list for a laparoscopy which could be years on end... I have been experiencing this pain for 6 years now :(( The NHS have made me feel like I'm going insane and have not helped me in anyway. I have been to A&E countless times and they told me I need to stop wasting my time by going in as they cannot find anything. (they have only done ultrasounds)

I have looked into private hospitals but the money is far too much for me... but is it worth it going into debt? Is it better just to wait for this laparoscopy, or go ahead with private? I just don't know what to do:(

Well, try natural remedies at first, go see a nutritherapist. That's the first thing you really should be doing. That kind of specialist (make sure he knows endometriosis at first) can recommend you things that will help you manage your symptoms a bit. I've been waiting for 7 years with pain getting worse and worse and still nothing, still waiting!

Hey lovely. Sorry to hear this.

I have only just been put on the waiting list last week after 2 years of fighting with the NHS I finally just paid £170 for a consultation with a specialist. She said I needed a lap but the NHS is 18 month wait🤦🏽‍♀️

Personally, I can’t wait that long. I’m 26 and I just can’t spend my next two years not knowing and suffering. This is meant to be the best years of my life!!!

I just got a quote from Spire hospital privately for a lap it’s £5000. It’s a hell of a lot of money, but I’m in the position where I feel like I just need to pay it and make a few sacrifices.

It absolutely makes me angry and upset and hurt that we have to do this. It should be a available quicker on the NHS but it’s not their fault, it’s the bloomin government.

But anyway private is 4-8 weeks wait so i think I’m biting the bullet and going for it and getting it booked in this week.

My specialist did say I can go into temporary menopause whilst I wait for the NHS lap so that may be an option for you? I’ve heard good and bad things about it but I’m sure you’re GP can discuss it with you xxx

Hi, l hear your pain.

I was referred by my GP who is an amazing woman.

I had heavy post meno bleeding at age 75, after being referred my first consultant didn’t take me seriously, but a year later he decided to do a partial hysterectomy which found a tumour in the lining of my womb, this was followed with a change of consultant and me having the hysterectomy completed. I am now in the care of an amazing cancer consultant.

Please go ahead and have investigations and l sincerely hope you are soon treated as you should be.
