Laparoscopy Finally!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to post this for anyone else who feels like no one is helping!

I had an ultrasound and mri looking to find why I was in so much pain and of course they found nothing.. I have been pretty much contacting my doctor every few weeks in pain till I got on the waiting list for a laparoscopy. However I have been debilitated by my pain now and doctors were saying ‘we can’t do anything just have to wait for the laparoscopy’ or they were doing STI checks (baring in mind I have a long term partner) they just gave up after that.

I started ringing my hospital to try and speak to my gynaecologist however everytime I rang it was ‘leave your name and number’ or ‘ring between said times’ I tried everything… NO ONE got back to me so I had enough I can’t live my life like I am.

I contacted PALS by email to explain I cannot get through and I am in agony, everything changed!!! I had a phone call within half an hour of the email to help me. She informed me that I was ‘only routine’ and that I would of been waiting at least 12 months, but she told me to get my GP to do an expedite letter to get me put up a category of urgency.

(My partner actually asked my GP if they could expedite at my appointment and they told him no) but because I said my hospital have asked me to request one it could be done.

It has been a week and now I have my pre op phone call this Wednesday, bloods and swabs Friday and I have my diagnostic laparoscopy on the 5th of August.

The reason I’m telling you this is because you have to be persistent and make sure you or partner advocate for you! No one should be left in pain or mentally drained like I and many others have been!
