I suffer with quite extensive abdominal adhesions due to surgeries and possible endometriosis, I suffer pain & bloating daily as well as all the other symptoms that it brings with it. I went out last night (rare occurrence) and I had a few drinks also rare, I drank what I normally do which is larger & lime but towards the end of the night I had an horrendous pain in my mid lower abdomen like I was being ripped inside! Needless to say I had to leave and when I got home I sat on the loo to have a wee and the internal pressure was unbearable! it radiated from my pelvic area into my rectum and intensified if I tried to relax again like my insides were being torn. I have had a hysterectomy when I was 31 so I know my bowels have filled that space. The pain has continued throughout the night and reached an all time high early this morning I genuinely nearly phone got a paramedic although I didn’t. I had to try and open my bowels and only passed just a little but it hurt so much, has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if it were gas as even trying to pass that was horrendously painful or maybe I have a kink in my bowel or a partial blockage? It has eased throughout the day but when I sit down the pressure is still really bad. Sorry for the long post and detail x

Hi Channy3, I hope you a feeling a bit better by now. Alcohol is inflammatory substance that can cause havoc for people who have inflammatory conditions like endo. It sounds like it hit you hard unfortunately. If I was you I would consider going to the doctor. If you are still in extreme pain go to A&E. A few weeks ago I ended up in A&E in extreme pain, I though an ovarian cyst had burst. However it turned out I had fecal impaction. Which can cause intense pain. I only found this out following an xray. I had no idea I had this issue as I regulary go twice a day! It is certianly worth asking the question though. I hope you get help soon

It’s horrible isn’t it, I’m sorry I have these issues to! I’m unsure of the cause but my stomach is still very tender inside and to the touch a bit like after having serious surgery. I’m bloated (although has gone down a little) and the pressure in my anus is still present and becoming unbearable, I have an hemorrhagic ovarian cyst which has been there a few years so that could well not be helping, but it feels like I’ve ripped inside my pelvis… that’s the only way I can explain it x

Channy3 please go your doctor and seek help. Its horrible living with that kind of pain. Maybe they can give you different medication? I recently tried buscopan and it seemed to help. Stay away from codeine. Its what caused my fecal impaction. No one warns you that this could be an effect of this! This last month I have been trying an anti-inflammatory diet (no gluten, dairy, alcohol, caffine, processed foods) and my pain during this last period definitely lessened. I needed less painkillers, only paracetomol and ibuprofen, when i was previously on naproxen (a high dose). Maybe doing something like this may help you too?
