STI checks

I am fuming right now! I am being investigated for endometriosis and I’m really struggling right now but doctors can’t figure out what’s going on so again I am doing an STI check which I have done before and it never finds anything… I am ringing them all the time now as the pain in my left and the size of my stomach is draining, painful and no one can help me! I am at my wits end with it all! I also have bpd so mentally this takes a massive toll 😭

So sorry to hear you're dealing with this but unfortunately, it's not uncommon. Took me countless trips to my GP and five hospitalisations to get an endo diagnosis after struggling with pain for 17 years. A lot of the other girls here have a similar tale.

A GP I saw years ago also suspected an STI - it is a common cause of abdominal pain but not helpful when you know that's not it.

Have you had a laparoscopy to confirm endo? Are they planning one? In the meantime, pain- relief wise, over the counter co-dydramol is pretty good and if you can get anything off your GP I can't recommend amitriptyline enough. That stuff is heaven sent.

Totally understand that your BPD makes the whole situation worse. Have PTSD myself so not quite the same but we've been dealt a bad hand as it is, the excruciating pain of endo ain't doing us any favours.

so I have had all outside scans done (MRI and ultrasound) obviously found nothing!

I am now constantly having a swollen stomach and no buscopan which they keep giving me works 😩

So I am on the massive waiting list for a laparoscopy now and they said it took take a very long time till I have it!

So they finally gave me codeine however I don’t want to get blocked up either as my belly is already painful from just being bloated for no reason let alone if codeine blocks me up 😂
