I’m curious to find out if having the copper coil (non hormonal one - not Mirena) may have triggered my endometriosis. Especially where mine was (uteral ligaments - behind the womb). Just wondered if anyone else has had a Copper coil and since suffered with Endo?

Hi, sorry to hear what you are going through. I listen to a poadcast where they talk about coper and endo. I have not had the coil myself but was interested to hear. Hope it helps
I’m. It sure that copper coil can cause endo but there is suggestion that it may make endo worse. I certainly found the pain increased after having a copper coil and heavy bleeding got worse too but it had alway been bad and on diagnosis of adenomyosis it was clear I’d had both endo and adenomyosis for a long time. Coil may just have made worse but I don’t see it can cause it.
