Cerelle for Adenomyesis?

Hi, I’ve recently been diagnosed with adenomyeosis, I was misdiagnosed with a fibroid but they’re pretty sure it’s adenomyeosis now. My main symptom is unmanageable periods getting worse and worse, they are so heavy that I tend not to leave the house during this time but of course some days I have to and it can be awful. Unpredictable flooding. My gynaecologist has recommended I try Cerelle to try and stop or lighten my periods as I am anemic from it. My iron hit rock bottom in January and I’ve been on iron tablets.

does anyone have any experience of this and did the mini pill work for you? I’m going to start it with my next period so I’m hopeful it may help.

Thanks in advance xx

I was diagnosed with adenomyeosis a few months ago but imagine I have had this for a long time since my periods have also been as you described since I was a teenager, and when I was 18 I was put on Cerelle. This helped me immensely, and if I remember correctly I would only need to take painkillers once in a blue moon and would just have the odd very light period. It can make your periods a little unpredictable at first (I think I had a lot of random bleeding for the first few months) but it does settle down, and the main thing is the relief of pain and heaviness which for me was very soon after taking them. I think I was on it for 3 years in total and it made me forget what it was like to have a bad period, so if you respond well to it I think it’s definitely worth it! If you don’t get on with it you can also try other forms of progesterone as people can respond quite differently to each one. Wishing you the best of luck xx

I started to take Cerelle this January to help me with endometriosis pain while awaiting for surgery. It really helped me with pain and I almost stopped bleeding by now, but first 2 months was a bit of a struggle as I was bleeding/spotting on and off almost for a whole months. GP asked me to double the dose and since then is so much better!

On a negative side my mood can change very suddenly now and my libido dropped to 0, I swear to God 🙈 but those negatives can't take away one huge positive which is I'm almost PAIN FREE!!!! Such a life changer!
