Hello new to here. Diagnosed with endometriosis in my late 30s after suffering from terrible period pains and everything else. Had an amazing Endo Consultant one of the top in this field but who is now retired. Had stage 4 endometriosis and went on to have surgical excision of Endometriosis. A course of Zoladex to shut my ovaries down threw me into a false menopause. Recovery was good and did have some respite from this terrible condition. Years later it was flaring up again. I was advised to have a Mirena coil fitted. This worked effectively and went in to have a further two more - that’s 15 years of the Mirena . But I was still getting cyclic pain around my pelvis. After a further laparoscopic procedure I was told the area around my womb looked healthy and no signs of Endometriosis. By now had started with the natural menopause. I still have cyclic pain but no period. Recently I have had excruciating joint pains and was wondering if anyone else had considered or is taking a form of HRT to help with the menopause without any flare up of the endo symptoms?

I am similar to you that I was diagnosed in my thirties, had two courses of zoladex (one for six months one for 2 years). I’ve had the coil for ten years now but in the main it has been pain free, in fact it gave me my life back. I tried HRT patches the 50mg and soon my endo pains started again so I stopped. I now have the 25mg patches. I have read the at 25mg won’t make much difference but I’m giving them a go. I have such debilitating pain head, neck and shoulders which I’m unsure is related. It’s worth asking if your surgery has a menopause specialist to speak to.
