Has anyone with severe Endo gone through the menopause young? I'm only 38 and it appears my time has come. Did you take or were you recommended HRT?

I've previously had Zoladex so in a way know what to expect but not sure if anyone has experienced issues with standard menopause treatments.

I was 51 in February and officially menopausal after having had endometriosis all my life. I won’t take HRT personally (for fear of oestrogen reactivating my lesions) but I know others on here are taking HRT, some successes, some not, it’s so individual probably it’s best to get some really good advice. I know ladies on here recommend Louise Newson or is it Newton as she has good podcasts on her website (just Google) but for me I’m now enduring many nasty menopause symptoms but no pain, so it’s what works for you. Good luck. Nina.

I was 30 when 1st menopausal - had to be on HRT plus other tablets tostop bleeding- did not work some times- now older still suffer with some

bleeding if I do too much heavy lifting- moving items.

Like other lady some other problems cause me minor problems-as long as

do not end up in hospital with very bad UTI.

Endo causes so much stress, fear its a long track to travel. Hope you are

keeping well and safe.

Hi, I was 36 when I began menopause following a full hysterectomy due to having endo and adenomyosis. I've been on HRT ever since. I started on lival for the first couple of years, so the endo couldn't feed and I'm now on estroderm patches. I've had no issues with HRT and it keeps the effects of the menopause at bay except for the occasional hot flush. My hysterectomy was 5 years ago and I'm happy to continue with the HRT especially as it protects against osteoporosis which runs in my family. If you have any questions feel free to message me and I'll try to help. X

Hi I'm about to start prostap injections and hrt tablets along side.ive had surgery to treat stage 4 endo I also have adenomyosis but wasn't told if that was treated during surgery. how many treatments did you have before they did the full hysterectomy as I'm being told to try these injections for 6 months to hold off on the full hysterectomy as I'm only 34

I had a hysterectomy at 29 for because of stage 4 endometriosis. I am on hrt but just come out of hospital after the 8th operation to remove more. We are going to look at the hrt I am on as it is catch 20 22 I need the hormones but it speeds the endometriosis growth up as well. This might not happen to everyone just what's happened to me. Xx

This is what I'm worried about is all the operation's even after having a hysterectomy 🤔 suppose it's something I just have to deal with if all else fails and it keeps coming back which I think is very possible as I only had surgery to remove endo and cysts last October and it's all coming back quite quickly..the side effects of prostap and the hrt scare me a little as depression is one and I already suffer with my mental health

I hope you don’t mind my asking but was it a total hysterectomy? I’m about to have one (so elegantly called a ‘pelvic clearance’) next month. Stage 4 Endo & Adeno, Prostap for over 1 year. Biggest fear is like many women’s; the Endo will come back.

Yes, it was full clearance. The HRT they put me on straight after was low in oestrogen so if there was any remaining endo it couldn't feed. I was on that for two years and I'm now on combined. My endo has never returned as far as I know. I do still have issues but they are down to pelvic organ prolapse. You need to make sure you do your pelvic organ exercises after your hysterectomy, they will advise you how often you should do them.Good luck with your op, feel free to message me if you have any other questions 😊xx

If you are on just oestrogen patches this is against guidelines - you should be on combined.

I've never been on oestrogen only. The HRT I was on after my hysterectomy was low in oestrogen so any remaining endo couldn't feed. I'm now on combined. My gynaecologist was a endo specialist.

Hello there , I’m only 23 and I feel like I have it already I got told I have adenmyosis based on a scan and I suffer everyday is this linked to menopause and my moods up and down… I wasn’t sure how young you could get it. Hope you get things sorted with you.

Hi, adenomyosis is very similar to endo but it grows inside the muscle wall of the womb instead of outside the womb. X
