Hi would love to hear about endometriosis excision surgery stories. Do you think it was worth having? How much has it affected the pain level and how long have you had relief for?

Thank you x

would also like to know, 11 days post excision surgery for stage 4 deep infiltrating endometriosis with bowel involvement, obliterated pouch of Douglas, frozen pelvis etc…they also found adenomyosis during the surgery and have advised I will need radical surgery in future - no idea when! So currently feeling frustrated as I’ve no idea if it has worked or if I should have just went ahead for hysterectomy rather than trying to hold on for fertility reasons. On plus side pain is not as bad as I imagined and I hope it will bring me some relief

Thank you for your reply.I think I have a similar case to you. My exploratory lap in 2012 showed bowel involvement, pod etc and I know now I am at worse stage.

I hope you get your happy ending with a beautiful baby and the surgery is a success.

If u don't mind me asking did u have ablation or exicison with a specialist in endo

thank you! So I went to an accredited endo centre, it was mostly excision but there was a little on my bowel that he used ablation, not sure how happy I am about that but I’ve yet to see the report so I’m not too sure exactly what has been done! Surgery was just under 3 hours and he said he has freed my bowel, one ureter and divided adhesions, drained cysts in ovary and found adenomyosis too. It is so hard not knowing exactly what was done and a five min conversation after surgery when high as a kite didn’t really give enough info so will wait and see what the report says

They should wait for the person to come around properly before they start telling you the findings. This is the reason why I cannot remember exactly what they found in my exploratory lap years back.

I am worried my endo is getting worse so I need to find a surgeon. I've tried my hardest to avoid surgery because but I think I can't handle anymore pain now.

I wish u the very very best for your future. I hope this surgery gives u long term relief from this horrid disease. All the best x

I agree with you 100 per cent, a short conversation doesn’t provide enough information, let alone when still recovering and in pain. Honestly the pain from surgery now isn’t that bad, hopefully it will be the same for you! Thank you and hopefully you will get some relief xx
