My name is Anna and I was diagnosed with endometriosis back in April 2023, having suffered with its symptoms for many years before that, and continue to now.
I have a vision to create a theatre project based on my lived-experience with the disease (and perhaps also including related symptoms of the menstrual cycle/other conditions, such as PCOS- which I also have), and to build greater endo awareness through a multi-disciplinary arts practice (theatre/poetry/painting/audio-visual etc).
As part of this project, I want to collaborate with other members of the endo community/other artists already involved or interested in making art in response to female health conditions (endo in particular).
I am contacting this platform in the hope of reaching out to others who may want to contribute to this project (I hope to facilitate some workshops for it) or collaborate with me on this project.
If you’re interested in supporting this project, please let me know.
I would be grateful if anyone could let me know how I can promote this message further, or if you know of any other platforms (online or otherwise) that you could direct me to?
Best,
Anna

Hi there, I'm interested! I am a fine art student that often explores the experience of women on the internet within my practice - while this is not my usual area, I suffer with endo and PCOS so this does matter to me!
Hi themimeartist, thank you for expressing your interest, your practice sounds really cool/interesting, I’d love to be in touch to learn more and so I can share more info with you.
As I say, it’s currently at its beginning stages (adjusting the concept to create a pitch deck for funding) - would you be comfortable sharing your contact info, and some examples of your art, with me and I can be in touch about sharing more details about the project now and as it develops? A little more conversation could help you gauge how and in what capacity you can see yourself getting involved. Anna x
Hi Anna, this sounds interesting. Roughly what part of the UK are you based in? I’m a musician and arts administrator working mainly in the music festival world but I have a few theatre connections that I might be able to tap into locally (West Midlands/Gloucestershire sort of area). I’d be interested in finding out more. For spreading the word, you can make a free posting on the arts council’s ‘events’ board and could set up some sort of introductory zoom call from there?
hi Lex4, thank you for getting in touch! I’m based in Manchester, and wow that’s awesome, thank you for this insight, and for sharing your interest. As I say, it’s currently at its beginning stages (I’m adjusting the concept to create a pitch deck for funding) - would you be comfortable sharing your contact info with me and I can be in touch with sharing more details about the project now and as it develops? Hi Anna, good on you for doing this! I'm interested in this project and hearing more about it. I'm a performer (actor & poet) with Endometriosis all my adult life. It's been and continues to be, a painful and difficult journey. Feel free to contact me directly. All the best Fiona
Thank you for getting in touch, and for your support. I’ll message you directly soon to update you on where I’m at with the project and so we can have a little more conversation on ways in which you’d feel comfortable collaborating xx
Sounds really interesting and a worth while project. I have endo, initial diagnosis was adeno. Currently doing a research project on effects of infertility. I find being creative has really helped me to get through difficult times. I would love to help out. 🙂
This sounds like a wonderful idea and something I would be really interested in, I have a degree in Theatre and have been looking for ways to get myself back involved in performing/directing/writing again. But as you can imagine,I haven’t been well enough. Just for context I’ve recently been diagnosed with endometriosis after being hospitalised with a large ovarian cyst which has disrupted the placement of my ovaries. Please feel free to get in touch, I’d love to be a part of any workshops you might be putting together.
