Hi all,

I'm 26 and have been recently diagnosed with Endo (after experiencing the symptoms for over 10 years!). At the moment I'm taking Levest to help manage the symptoms which seemed to work for a couple months when I had energy and was pain free! Even though I've continued to take the pill, for the last couple months I've been experiencing pain, bleeding, nausea, bloating and fatigue again. Almost like my body / the Endo are fighting the hormones in the pill.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any tips for managing these symptoms? I have an appointment to see the GP in a couple weeks but I've found that they can be slightly clueless about this condition!

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi flattie Yes I was experience. This was called breakthrough bleeding this happened on taking back-to-back pills 63days. Please take ultrasound scan whole abdominal. Take transamic acid 500mg 3 per day for 3days Then stop it.ocp pills take some time for settle and adjest in our body. 1 and half year back happened to me. My experience transamic acid was not working to me while stop transamic acid again I have bleeding. So doctor prescribed Norethindrone 10mg 2per day for 5day then 1 per day for 10 days then stop completely.when period came start again combination pill on first day of periods with transamic acid. One more thing take any hormone tablet same time every day. Put alarm on your mobile.

It may well be the particular blend and you don’t get on. After all there are 65+ varieties of endo and then add our unique natures and as my lovely GP says “ hormone pills are a bit of a dark art “. Go back and have a conversation. Changing our hormones alters gut function- ask most menopausal women and they’ll spill the beans on that one 😂.

However endo as most here know, and I certainly do, has a gut function element and it now appears has a significant role in endo development; so getting to grips with how that might play out for you ought to really help overall. There’s a really good recent blog exploring this by Katie Edmonds ( who wrote an awesome book Heal Endo ) which can be seen via her Instagram feed @heal.endo

Hope that’s food for thought on the overall. As you say GP’s knowledge base can be pretty hit and miss on this.

You may have already tried this, but sometimes changing to a more anti-inflammatory diet can help with endo symptoms and bloating. We all respond to things differently, but for me taking out gluten and sugar made a big difference to my symptoms, along with adding in more anti-inflammatory foods like fruit and veg. Hope you find something that helps.
