So just a quick one as some may have seen my recent posts about my periods just a quick re cap for those who haven’t well I’ve been on for 13/14 weeks now and I went to the doctors and they gave me some new tablets as my others just wasn’t touching my pain or stopping my heavy bleeding this time so they gave me nothisterone tablets, I’ve took them for 7 days at first like doctor told me and then I started bleeding again so again doctor told me to re take but for 10days I have woken up this morning exactly the same as before it’s only been 2 days of not taking them after my 10 days and I’ve started bleeding again in a lot of pain again and clots has anyone else been like this? This is the first time this has happened where tablets just isn’t stopping the bleeding, I’m worrying now as it’s 2nd time with these tablets this has happened! I’ll be calling doctors tomorrow and hoping I get somewhere instead of keep having tablets thrown at me, any advice would be greatful if anyone else has been the same x

it’s unfortunately very common to bleed through nothisterone. I will given it a few years ago and I actually feel in the long run it did more damage than good. I bled through them and still had awful pains. And the side effects can be quite nasty it’s veryyyy hit or miss if it will work for you. I’d keep pushing the GP to let you try different things to find which one works. Don’t let them just let you suffer x
Hi I'm on norethisterone 15mg every day and my bleeding which was horrendous has stopped. I get a little brown blood now and again but that's normal for the first couple of months. Unfortunately I'm not sure how long can stay in them them due to a flipping gynecologist saying I'm too old for them I'm 49.in her report to my GP she said I'm not a suitable candidate. So they are writing to find out what she means by this. And will review things after they hear back from her. I have a couple of cysts, two fibroids, adenomyosis and signs of endometriosis. This was discovered during an internal ultrasound. So perhaps you might be better off taking them every day. Hope you get things sorted out soon, sending warm hugs x
Nothisterone? I have only ever been offered this firm of medication when I’ve been going away on holiday or something & wanted to stop my periods for a short amount of time. I didn’t think it was a long term med? When you stop them, you just come on your period as normal. So I can’t say why this treatment is given for endo. Seems pointless. It did stop my bleeding for the times I have wanted it to, but the pains are still as bad. I have used them two or three times for holidays etc when younger, but then refused to take them since, as the way they made me feel after coming off them was horrific. Very emotional & moody. Hope you find a treatment that is much more helpful x
