Hi. Is anyone else having a light bleeding a few days before their period?I noticed that it happens after ovulating, about 6 days before my period is due. It is not a lot of blood but enough to soil underwear and need to use a pad. I don't feel any pain at all, but I was wondering whether it could be endo tissue triggered after ovulation?
Bleeding before period : Hi. Is anyone else... - Endometriosis UK
Bleeding before period
Yes! This happened to me for the first time last week. I was very confused, too light for an actual period and no pain. My period kicked in two days later.. along with the pain (and earlier than usual on day 26). I am two months post surgery and wondering if that has anything to do with it? Sorry, don’t have any answers but thought I’d let you know I’ve had the same! Xx
Hi Edda13
I actually had this, and this was how my endo was diagnosed as I’m 47 and early peri menopausal. I just assumed it was part of my symptoms but each month the bleeding continued and it soon became that I’d be clear for a week only. My doctor was great and because of her pushing scans etc I was able to see someone. I’m literally sitting in the hospital now waiting for my second lap to have my left ovary out as this is the problem one. It could be endo tissue, but I’d see if you can contact your doctor as they may have a better idea, that said appointments are like gold dust where I live so hope you get to see someone, xxxx
I can relate to that... It's not the first time and I was seeing by my gynaecology. They couldn't see anything during a transvaginal ultrasound, so she put it down to my age (I was only 40!) she assumed it was one of the many perimenopause symptoms. The thing is that she didn't take the investigation any further.
I'm 44 and my gynecologist said it was due to my perimenopause. But that's the same consultant that could not tell if I have endometriosis or IBS. As I believe is endometriosis I don't think her diagnosis was very accurate, it was a rather dismissive answer. She never did any blood tests, scans or recommended a laparoscopy, even when she knew what I was going through. Sorry for the little rant x
Hi,
Yes, I get this every month, usually a couple of days to a week before my period starts. It also worsens during and after sex. I’m 27 and still waiting on a date for my laparoscopy. Hope this helps 😊
Yes, I get that for about seven days before the painful period begins. I’ve had it ever since my laparoscopy in 2017 when endometriosis was found. It’s a really annoying symptom.
I’ve started experiencing this too - it’s odd, I’m trying for a baby so doing ovulation tests and as soon as it looks like I’m ovulating … the next day I start bleeding up until my period, I don’t understand it either! x
