I am just over two weeks post-op after having laparascopic surgery to diagnose and remove endometriosis ( which they did), i also had and endometrioma sorted out, ovarian drilling and a hysteroscopy.....im really struggling with how swollen my tummy is after the surgery and feeling very all over the place.....having issues with my wounds and having days where i feel quite emotional and low and fed up.....basically like i should be back at work already or like im failing by not being back on my feet fully yet.....i recently stopped prostap injections too and i guess i just wondered if anyone else felt like this after surgery or diagnosis etc......i haven't really talked to family etc because don't want them to think im complaining or anything......☹️🤢😷🤒🥺
Thanks
xx

Wow seems like you had a lot in one hit! This Monday I had endro (stage 4) removed and an endrometrial cyst and Having only had half of what it sounds like you went through I’m still out for count! I wasn’t expecting the fatigue especially when people say “oh out on the same day you must be feeling much better” it really invalidates what your going throug. My doctors said that it can take two weeks to feel normal (and again that seems to only be half of what you have done)
When I’m relaxing I feel fine but then after pottering about the house within the hour I regret my decision and doze back off to oxycodone land!
My point is your putting much more pressure on yourself and you’ve clearly gone through a lot. You deserve this break regardless of anyone else’s opinions on failure your body needs to come first
Oh also not sure if they gave you a belly band (my operation was done in the US) but I live for this thing and I’m in a lot more pain without it. I’d they havnt given you one maybe get one?
thank you so much for your reply! Feel so much better knowing talking to people who understand! It’s hard to explain how I’m feeling sometimes! What is a belly band??? Im intrigued
Thank you for your advice and just for replying! Hope you are doing okay
it’s a extremely thick belt (35 cm wide to cover the whole tummy area) it’s made of elastic material with Velcro ends so you can set it as tight or loose as you like. If I were to sneeze or cough without it I would be in a lot of pain
😱 I need one! I sneezed earlier and the pain was horrific! I’ll have a look for one tomorrow maybe on amazon! Thank you so much for your support and advice!
I was off work for 4 weeks after my laparoscopy. I was working on a ward at a hospital at the time, & they said even 4 weeks was too soon, but I wanted to get back to it. Started with half days the first week.
Don’t expect too much too soon. Your body needs time to heal. It’ll tell you when it’s ready.
Easier said than done I know, but don’t stress! Take this time to recuperate.
thanks so much for taking time to reply! I hope you are well!
I don’t think I thought it would take this long to recover! I have an appointment with the nurse on Monday as my umbilical wound is giving me some serious trouble! Also have serious extra bruising after ten days of anti-clotting injections 😩 but hoping I’ll get there soon!
