I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis and adenomyosis. Part of my treatment has been to start taking Metformin. Has anyone experienced extreme nausea and sweating whilst on Metformin? I'm sure my body will settle down but any tips or advice would be welcome.
Thank you in advance.

I was prescribed Metformin a few months ago, I didn't find it that affective so they took my off it. I did experience a bit of nausea if I didn't eat enough with it. I'm sure your body will get used to it after continuous use.
Hi, I also didnt notice any difference for the first 3 months so they increased my dosage to x3 tablets a day. Its only been since this that I have really struggled with the side effects.
I am going to try and continue taking it with the hope my body will relax
Hiya, I take Metformin for my diabetes. At first they gave me the standard tablets (2 a day), but when I started getting an upset stomach, I was switched to the slow release version (one a day). That’s one option.
If your dose is too strong, it came make you feel sick, so maybe you’re taking too many a day?
I am on 3 tablets a day- 1 with my lunch and 2 with my main meal dinner.
I was initially on 2 tablets a day but wasn't noticing a difference so they increased my dosage and since then my stomach has been struggling to keep anything in.
My increase in dosage coincided with going back onto the contraceptive pill after 7 months off so I did wonder if it was the increase in oestrogen that was also causing me to feel sick.
Thank you for your advice re the slow release metformin- I am going to speak to my Dr about this.
You’re welcome! Sounds like that extra one has tipped you over the edge. Before you go back, try one with breakfast, lunch and dinner, instead of one with lunch and two with your dinner, see if that helps. 😃
