Decapeptyl 3

Hii, I just have a few questions regarding Decapeptyl -3 months, I took my last injection on May 14th and I didn’t get my period yet should I be concerned? When does the first period after Decapeptyl starts? & is it possible to get pregnant before having my period?

It varies but can take several months. The injection acts on the brain (pituitary gland) to stop the ovaries developing follicles, which in turn are what produce oestrogen. So that all has to be reversed before a cycle can begin again.

Regarding contraception the injections themselves are not contraceptives and it is always advised to use other means so theoretically you can get pregnant while on the injections (but I think it would be rare). So yes you could get pregnant if that is what you are wanting but if not you must use a form of contraception. x

Hey I’m the same got last decapeptyl mid May and still no period. It’s frustrating as we starting ivf soon x

I think each person is different. I read if its a 28 days injection(3.75) which I am on it wud be around 2 -2.5 month after last injection. If it is 11.25 every 3 month then it wud be 4-5 months after last injection.But in the mean time there is a chance you getting pregnant 2 -3 month after last (28 days) injection , that should be around the time ovulation comes back!

So maybe good idea to test and then go to your dr if period not returned despite not being preg.

They give you medication to have your period start.

I remember 4 yrs ago when I was on Lupron I was worried not getting my period and dr told me they will give me mefication there is no worries if it doesnt come back which indeed it came back after two month I guess.

Currently I had my 5th decapdptyl ( brand callled Dipheralin) today and I will have another 4 still.

Doc wanna make sure all endo is diminished before going for ivf transfer.

I had also a major surgery to remove Adeno and endo around my 3rd injection time.
