Eventually last year I was unofficially diagnosed with Endometriosis and was put on the pill to mask the symptoms. It did help calm it down but didn’t do great for my mental health, so I came off probably a month before I had my investigation laparoscopy.
The laparoscopy came back with nothing being found, everything looked normal. I was so confused and I little deflated because I thought I was finally getting an answer.
Has anyone else heard of stories like this before? I’m trying to find help wrapping my head around what it could be. The doctor did say it could of been that the pill masked and that why they couldn’t find anything. But I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this before where someone has majority symptoms but apparently nothing wrong with them?

It can be microscopic….I had my surgery a year ago and was diagnosed with stage four endo and when I still had pains after the surgery my doctor told me it is microscopic endo that isn’t visible during surgery…..and I have also read the symptoms and pain can be severe with mild endo or minor symptoms with stage four so it doesn’t have to be visible to have the symptoms
Hiya, I'm sorry you are going through this - it is draining and confusing.
I have just had something very similar happen to me - and I honestly don't know what to do next. So about 5 years ago I started feeling rotten. I had all the endo symptoms, was scanned etc and an endometrioma was found. I was told it was likely I had pelvic endo and was given a Mirena coil to treat my symptoms. Things calmed a bit then persisted, so eventually had a Lap last year. Nothing was found other than peritoneal pockets (which the consultant dismissed as normal.) I had a follow up MRI (which I was told would give me a definitive answer) the scan said I had it on my bladder and behind my uterus. But I was then told by my consultant that I didn't have it because she couldn't see it. I also asked to see my MRI report / images and she wouldn't show it to me. Now I'm just waiting for some advice. Are you going to get a different consultant? Don't give up x
Hiya I had my laparoscopy yesterday and it came back completely normal no evidence of endo. It is so disheartening as my symptoms are very severe and I can't get my head around that I have pain but no evidence of endo. They fitted me with the mirena coil at the same time and explained it is an effective pain relief so only time will tell. I am gutted as I am sure you are because all I wanted was an answer. Hope you possibly have answers for moving forward now x
