Endo diagnosis advice

Hi everyone, first time posting here. Last year I had been to a consultant following a colposcopy as part of my ongoing checks for a letz procedure a few years prior. At this appointment the consultant informed me endometriosis was identified during biopsies that they took. At no stage was I informed they were testing for endometriosis and no treatment or explanation has ever been given to me of what this means. I have since gone back to my gp as I have a lot of symptoms of endometriosis that have been ignored for by them for years. My own gp believes the endometriosis diagnosis from the biopsy may be a ‘typo’ but has referred me to gynae and referred me for a laparoscopy. If the endometriosis was diagnosed from biopsy then it will be in my cervix. Could I have endometriosis elsewhere, would a laparoscopy identify other locations? Any help and advice would be really appreciated.

This is a very interesting post , I have had treatment for an ectropian in cervix and I believe there may a link between this and the likelihood of endo in the womb and ovaries and else where. Ectropian being cells that grow outside the cervix from inside that can be cauterised as a way to treat them - I am currently going through investigations to see if I have endo so it will be interesting to see what is found . There is no info really anywhere about any link between the two but it’s interesting that the biopsy found endo cells there. They take biopsies sometimes without your Knowledge and I find this baffling as they should be talking you through everything they do step by step. Endo can be found anywhere in your pelvic area but often on the uterus and ovaries. The gp I think is doing a good job of setting up the process for a lap for you , so good luck on your quest for answers 😊
