Just wondering if anyone can give me their experiences re recovery time following laparoscopy and ablation?
I know everyone is different but would be useful to know other peoples experience. My main concern is returning to work as I work in a stroke unit so lifting and positioning heavy patients. Lots of stretches, reaching and lifting. The advice online ranges from 2 weeks off to 6 weeks.
Thank you in advance!

I was back to work two weeks post-surgery, although I'm not sure I would have been able to manage heavy lifting at this stage. As you're aware, everyone's recovery times are different - the main thing to remember is to rest up properly and eat well in order to give your body time to recuperate.
There's a really useful document that you can download from our website entitled 'Laparoscopic Surgery for Endometriosis', which contains further details about what to expect after surgery. You can download it at endometriosis-uk.org/your-l...
I'm sure some of our other forum users will come back to you with their experiences post-surgery too. Very best of luck with the procedure!
