Laxido and Diarrhoea
Hi! This happened when I took it too - a little worrying, but I was warned by my gp to expect it, so I assume it’s a normal reaction. I guess it’s just clearing your guts out in an really thorough way… Unpleasant at the time, but gives a lot of relief and much safer than being extremely constipated! Hope you’re ok now x
Hi, yes Laxido is used to soften the stool which may result in loose stools..the Laxido is doing its job! I'm sure it works through osmosis where once ingested and in the bowel, it draws fluid into the bowels and softens the stool making it easier to pass..
Constipation of itself can also cause diarrhoea, when you add Laxido into the mix it’s more likely. The loosening effect of Laxido has a greater effect initially on less hard impacted material in the colon. This finds it’s way round the blockages first . It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve cleared the actual constipation- that can take longer.
To help the Laxido do it’s job and to keep things moving anyway it’s super important to drink plenty of water. I’ve been advised between 2-4 litres daily. With endo I’ve found my pelvic floor gets more chaotic with both the endo itself , hormones and inflammation which can literally be a bummer. Using a “squatty potty” puts the pelvic floor into a better physical position and not straining has helped no end for me. Reducing the chances of things hanging about being “toxic and uncomfortable “ is key for my welfare. Have always said if my gut ain’t right I feel wrong.
How long did you take this for. I am very referred for a colonposy in case there is anything seriously wrong as I cannot get rid of constipation for 6 weeks now. Colonposy next week.
