Hi, I am 28. I have suffered with Endo for 7 years and was diagnosed with it about 3 years ago. I was placed on the Zoladex injection every month for 2 and a half years. I had my last injection in December just gone and a lap in January this year, since then I have stopped all medication except Pregablin (for restless leg syndrome). I was expecting my period to return March kind of time but haven’t seen one yet and was wondering if this is normal I if anyone else in is the same boat ?
I am scared that it’s not going to return and that I won’t be able to start the family that my partner and I are wanting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you x

Hi, what has the consultant said? Really important to check with them. Did they explain everything about it before you started? I had it for the six months, but had hysterectomy before periods had a chance really.
Hi dear, I was on lupron during my first yrs of diagnosis, stage 4 adeno and endo, then lap then lupron again. It is in the same GNRH analogue family as zoladex. 3rd mo still no period but we immediately turned to IVF bec of the damage in my tubes caused by endo. My period returned around 5 months after. Being on GNRHa treatment supresses the pituitary gland from producing estrogen..simulating your body in a prolonged ovulation stage or pregnant stage. Depriving adenomyosis and endometriosis estrogen. If your lap was a success in removing blockage and adhesions, there is nothing to worry about. Being off GNRHa treatment may take up to 6 mos of no period depending on how aggressive your body produces estrogen.
Being with period means feeding endo. So be aware of your symptoms.
Note: I am not a medical practitioner simply answering from experience and gyne interface from 25 yrs of adeno and endo.
Hi, I had zoladex for about 6-8 months before my second lot of surgery to remove a cyst, tube and some of the Endo. I thought like you, that my period would never return and we wouldn’t be able to start IVF. I’m pretty sure it was 8 months after I had the last injection, which was a 3 month zoladex that my periods returned.
