Post-surgery sick leave

I am due to have my second laparoscopy next week, the first being about 8 weeks ago. While the first one was more diagnostic with some treatment for adhesions, this next one will be slightly more complicated as it involves my bowel and ureters. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with recovery from different surgeries and if they needed more or less time off work?

Hi LB1988

Wishing you all the best with your upcoming surgery. Everyone's recovery times are different but please give yourself enough time to heal and recover from the procedure.

I came across the following feature on our website, which may be of interest. It's a personal account from someone who is reflecting on both of their laparoscopic surgeries and their advice for recovery.

Hope you find it useful. Take care x
