How do you find the best consultant in your area?

I was wondering how you find the best consultant in your area - willing to pay private. I live in West Midlands.

Hi! You can do a bit of web searching to find BSGE -accredited centres in your area - the consultants who work there may also do private practice. You can then look up the individual consultants to see what you think of them and how experienced/qualified they are. For honest personal experiences of their patients, good or bad, you can join a Facebook endo forum which allows consultants to be named (not here & I do not recommend Nancy’s Nook for this purpose). You can search through previous posts for the surgeons name, or write a new post asking for opinions on a particular surgeon or hospital etc. It can still be difficult to choose eg a friend of mine had a great experience with one gentleman, but I had a terrible experience and never want to lay eyes on him again! Hey, i live in west midlands too.

When i was looking private i had just googled it and then i came across many consultants profiles who i read their descriptions. I then found the one i liked and seemed most experience.

He turned out to be amazing. I recommend him to everyone now.

Have a look at their experience & their interests. My consultant happens to owns the fertility wing at the hospital too and runs the clinic so that was a big plus for me x
