Hello, having had endometriosis for a couple of years I've made the decision to reduce my hours to 4 days a week (30 hrs) at work,as the condition is painful and physically exhausting and is making me depressed. Fortunately my boss if very understanding but I will be losing £265 a month in wages which is a worry.
Does anyone here (uk) have any experience claiming sickness benefits/grants, if available and where to go?
Thank you

Hello! I had to go part time for the same reason, but luckily I could absorb the reduction in pay. I just wanted to say well done for having the courage to do this, and I hope you find good advice on this forum.
HI! I also work 30 hours a week and am not aware of any benefits available based on hours worked.
There are some benefits available for low income - I'm not sure if you have a partner that you live with, but this would take account of any income they also have. The website 'Entitled To' will give you a clear idea of whether there is any support available based on your individual circumstances.
Thank you all. Yeah it's tricky. I thought as much but worth asking.I know universal credit gave myself and partner sweet FA when he was unemployed 2020 because its all accumulative if you live together. I know my disabled friend (not with endo) gets something as she works 16 hrs p/w. I don't know if endo technically falls under disability.
I will have a look at the website, thank you.
My situation isn't dire but I guess I'll have to work on my budgeting.
