Fatigue 😫 does it improve with hormone treatment?

Hi ladies I an undiagnosed but have spent many years trying to be listened to.. my symptoms are:

- pain during urination

- pain during bowel movements

- pain during sex/tampon use

- severe fatigue

All worse the week before, and week of my period.

I basically go through cycles every couple of years of getting referred to the hospital to find out what’s going on, being told there’s nothing wrong, feeling deflated and putting up with it, then getting sick of putting up with it and going back to the GP. This is since I was 15 and I’m now 28.

I spoke to my GP today to ask for a referral to an endometriosis specialist once and for all, she has agreed to do so but in the meantime is putting me on the combined pill to be taken with no break to see if it eases symptoms and therefore gives me an answer as to whether it is endo.

Has anybody found symptoms to be eased by this? It sounds crazy out of all the awful symptoms I have, the fatigue is what gets me down the most! I literally can’t function during the bad half of the month and it makes me feel so down and guilty that I can’t always be the mum I want to be to my 5 year old and 1 year old twins because I can barely keep my eyes open. Luckily my husband is absolutely amazing, he is hugely supportive and totally gets it, but I can’t help feeling guilty. If anyone has any tips for fatigue I’d love to hear them!

Hi. I’m sorry you’re going through this. One of my worst symptoms is fatigue as well. I think it is the case of not feeling guilty about the tiredness you feel or perhaps pacing things out in your own time and not forcing yourself to do things you feel you cannot do. It’s definitely not easy not being able to do things you desperately want to do because of the symptoms. I pushed myself through my pain and fatigue and got worse. Definitely listen to your body. Just know you are not alone with these symptoms and the feeling of fatigue and hopefully that can ease the guilt you are feeling a bit.

I am taking the mini pill at the moment as the combined pill doesn’t agree with me but different pills work for different people. The mini pill for me has helped ease my symptoms and made things more manageable.

I hope the pill helps you and you get answers from the specialist.

Try not to feel guilty because the fatigue us so overwhelming. Also don't try and push yourself because I always find that just makes me even worse and then you can do even less the next day. It's great you have a supportive husband and so you can rest a bit when you need to. xx
