Hi there, I was diagnosed with Endo in 2018. Lots of it was removed and if I’m honest for a few months it felt like it had gone completely. 3 years down the line and endo is again taking over my life! The pain all month long is just horrendous. I’m not sure if it’s so bad because we have done 3 rounds of IVF, so the hormones may be reacting? Anyway, my GP put a referral through on the 20th September and I received a call the next day to advise I am an urgent case and I will get an appointment within a month or two. It’s now 6 weeks later and I have heard nothing! Is anyone else in the same position? I understand with Covid that times be longer but I don’t think they appreciate how this horrible disease can take over.

I was put on the NHS waiting list in early June and still waiting to hear anything! In the meantime, I went private as I couldn't carry on as I was - have since had consultations, further investigations, excision, and been scheduled for further surgery!

I appreciate thats not an option for everyone (and hopefully it means someone else gets an NHS appointment slightly quicker now I no longer need to be on the list!)

Post covid/lockdowns, the NHS waiting lists for most departments are massive as there was such a long period where no surgery took place - so it's impossible for anyone to know!

Hopefully you'll hear soon as it's being marked urgent

Hi So your options are limited- know how you feel me & my late husband tried various

means.

Surgery helps but in turn creates more scarring inside ( causes bleeding/pain) which you

do not need during this period of world crisis.

Go ahead with op but remember to relax, gentle exercise afterwards- walk in the park if you can, smaller washing loads, ltd housework etc.take time to recover

Keep well,safe

It could be the hormones from the IVF have flared things up I think the best way forward is to contact your GP to chase up the referral. Sometimes it’s worth you phoning the department you have been referred to speak to whoever schedules appointments, to ask about likely timescales and also let them know if you are willing to go at short notice if anyone cancels their appointment.

Hope you can get an appointment soon.
