So i'm currently pushing for tests to confirm that i have endometriosis after spending years in absolute agony. I've been dismissed time and again and ended up just living with the pain because i was too scared to go back to the doctors. Did you find that your doctors listened to your symptoms and helped you, or did they dismiss your pain as "completely normal"?

I'm currently in the same position, pushing for the basic tests before being referred and my new male doctor is fab. I dont feel like I'm being brushed off at all sadly I feel treatment/attitude is so varied. Previous female GPs have been very rude. Find a GP you are happy with and try to stick with them
Keep pushing! My mum was convinced I had endo when I was in my 20s. The GP and even the gyney said she didn't think it was until she actually saw it when she did the laparoscopy. Thankfully I managed to get them to agree to the investigation but yes I was fobbed off for a long time. Don't give up
Fobbed off for years and told its supposed to be painful. Didn’t get anywhere until I ended up in hospital with severe abdominal pain a scan showed a large mass (abscess) so I was rushed in and a lap dobe. They drained it and found I was riddled with stage 4 Endo with bowel ovary tube and uterus all mangled. If it wasn’t for the abscess I wouldn’t have been diagnosed. So many are undiagnosed, misdiagnose and ignored by the doctors you wonder if a class action against the nhs is inevitable.
