I'm new to this site. I've had my pre op assessment today so hopefully get a date soon. I've been this way since my periods started at 8 years old I'm 35 this year.
I have had the injection and HRT it honestly helped with my symptoms it was such a relief.
Can I ask my US have always been clear, my MRI showed a cysts but apparently that was normal. Has anyone had clear scans but still has endometriosis.
Thank you x

It's great that your laparoscopy will be happening (hopefully) soon, I hope this provides you with further relief.
To answer your question: yes, it is absolutely possible to have clear scans and still be diagnosed with endometriosis via a laparoscopy. This is exactly what happened to me. There are various reasons for this, largely it is due to the lack of advancement in technology to treat endo. Please feel reassured that if you have been recommended to have a laparoscopy by an endometriosis specialist, it is the right decision for your care.
Hello, you are a similar age to me. I took the pill from aged 18 because my periods were just unbearable anymore after having extremely heavy and 12 day ones since I was 10. Came off the pill end of last year properly. I did go and have an ultrasound in my mid twenties when I decided to come the pill (and funnily enough startrd having issues again!) However the us was clear and I left it going back on the pill. This year I thought enough was enough, I need to know if it is something more than just heavy periods and IBS. My us a few months ago, again, was "normal" even though I couldn't fully empty my bladder so sonographer couldn't see properly she said. I've now got a date for a laparoscopy. As others have said, in a way I hope I have some answers just to know and feel and have sr affirmation that I haven't been making the pain and symptoms up. I know how you feel 👊🏻 xxx
Thank you for your reply. Fingers crossed for you too.
I was given the pill when I was 8 but had to stop. I've only gone back on it on off past 2 years.
It's soo hard to get anywhere, I'm no stick either and for years I've been fighting to get answers, to be told your fat and cause it yourself is just soul destroying.
That is awful for them to say that it is your fault 😠 of course it's not! If your MRI showed cysts that definitely something that needs exploring more. I was told I didn't need an MRI after my u/s got a referral for laparoscopy straight away. It probably depends a lot on the GP/gynae you speak to.
