Laparoscopy while on period?

I’m just wondering if anyone has had a laparoscopy while on there period, I’ve been waiting for the surgery since June 2020 finally got my date for the 29th of September 2021. It’s my first laparoscopy procedure and there looking for endometriosis, fibroids etc & also checking my tubes aren’t blocked. I don’t know what to expect. Any info & suggestions would be really helpful. Thank you xXx

Hello. I had my laparoscopy on the first day of my period. I was anxious about this but turned out to be fine. I spoke to the surgeon on the morning of the operation and told him. I had knickers on under my gown anyway so wore a pad. They said that they gave u a pad at the end of the op anyway for any blood loss etc so it’s really not an issue. I found that my cycles weren’t actually disrupted by the procedure and think this is because it was at the time of my period. They flushed my tubes and removed a lot of Endo/adhesions. I was diagnosed with stage 3. I was super lucky to get pregnant 2 months later after having being try for well over a year before hand. I hope this helps xx

I was just off my period when I had my lap. I was told that if I had full on period they would still do the lap. They do it all the time no worries. Like lucyAM said they give you a pad for after anyways. For any post procedure spotting. 👍
