PCOS and Endo

Hi, I’m new here but just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience as I have so far.

Back in 2018 I was told after an ultrasound that I had what appeared to be PCOS and my doctor basically said we can’t do anything, come back when you want children. So at that point I felt like I just had to live with my symptoms until I felt ready to have kids.

Since then I have lived with really painful periods and for about a year I have had a constant pelvic pain in a specific spot and it always intensifies leading up to my period, along with constant bloating and other symptoms that point towards endo.

After seeing the Dr again for the pain in April, I was sent for another ultrasound in August and yesterday I finally spoke to the Dr about the result of that. She was a new Doctor for me, but she explained that I still had signs of PCOS but that was not really explaining the other symptoms and that she thought it was more than likely that I have endometriosis as well. We had a chat about options and how it’s hard to diagnose it but I left with a prescription for anti inflammatories to see if that eases the pain but didn’t really explain the point at which it would be explored further.

I wondered if anyone else has been diagnosed with both PCOS and Endo and whether it is worth pushing for further investigation or whether it’s best to see if the anti inflammatories help with the pains I’m getting.

Hi,I am currently going through the diagnosis process for endo and waiting for laproscopy, but I have had PCOS since I was a teenager.

At my endo appointment my consultant told me that unfortunately PCOS and endo do often go hand in hand!

I was the same as you with PCOS, told to take the pill and come back when I wanted to have children, it’s so frustrating that this is still the narrative.

I would absolutely push for investigation for endo because although PCOS causes periods to be irregular, it doesn’t cause pelvic pain and your other symptoms!

Good luck!!
