Id like to know if anyone has any advice on how to deal with surgery for endometriosis at work. The legal standpoint. Is it deemed elective or non elective? Does that fact it impacts fertility have any bearing on this?
The waiting times complicate this. I’m not choosing to wait… pretty sure they’d operate tomorrow if it wasn’t for the sheer volume of people needing it and lack of resource.
Any help / advice would be really handy.

Are you in the UK? If so, any surgery that is not carried out as an emergency is considered elective. Whether or not fertility can/is/might be affected has no bearing on this.
Work-wise - you can self-certify (in the UK) for 5 days for sickness. After this, you'll need a fit certificate (aka sick note) - for reference, I was just given a 2 week fit cert after my recent lap. With the fit cert, you give a copy to work so you don't have to go in.
