Got my MRI this afternoon, feel like this is the first step to getting some sort of diagnosis. Really supportive Dr at last who pushed for the MRI as the waiting list to see gynae is so long. Anyway, been dipping in and out of these posts and find them reassuring that it’s not just me in this much pain without having had a diagnosis yet and disheartened for so many of you that have had this for years. So wish me luck, in some ways I want it to show something so at least I know a) I’m not going mad and b) maybe can make some sort of plan!

hi sweetie how's u doing? I'm wishing you the best of luck 🤞 I was diagnosed in 2005 but am still no better off our gynecology department is a joke 😒 let us know how you get on and if you eva fancy a chat or rant plz pm me xxxx
Hi,
Exactly what I wanted, to assure myself I’m not going crazy and that there is something causing my pain. I found I had stage 1 endo, this was via a surgery.
My MRI showed nothing and neither did my ultrasound scans. So just letting you know that it may be a good idea to see a gynaecologist, even though the waiting list is long, I feel like it’s the only way to get a diagnostic lap for endometriosis
hi hun how's u doing, ur absolutely right, unfortunately the only way to confirm a diagnosis is a laparoscopy. but an mri will rule out anything else at least 😂 hope you are well xxx
Thank you again for the reply. I’ve found it really helpful reading posts on here and the replies I’ve had to mine. Just a forum in which I know I’m not the only feeling like this. I’ve got a TENs machine which is really helpful but for the amount of pain I’m in sometimes just wonder what the outcome is going to be. I’m pretty good at dealing with pain ordinarily (I didn’t even realise I’d gone into labour last time!) but this is something else. And gets me really down. Thank you again x
Thank you for your reply. I had those ultrasounds when I’ve ended up in hospital twice because of it and it shows nothing. I’d read the only way to diagnose is through a laparoscopy but the Dr felt at least this step will have been done by the time I finally see a gynae specialist. Which I did agree with. To be honest, I was just happy he was willing to do something and said to go back after the MRI, no matter what the result, to discuss next steps. Just don’t feel like my pain relief does a great deal and it’s all well and good saying rest but I work full time and have 3 boys so it’s not often an option (although I do have an amazingly supportive husband).
So I’m going to ring the docs today just to see how long the results might take.
At least it is one step forward!
