Hello. I am sorry to hear that you're not feeling well and uncertain about the next moves. I think the HRT is contributing to your symptoms. I had GNRH agonist injections for 10 months. The 5 months without HRT, I had the side effects of the injections. When I had the injections with HRT, I had endometriosis symptoms from the HRT. Sending you love and light and hope you feel better soon <3

Hi there, sorry to hear you’re struggling. As the mum of a daughter who is now at the end of the line and ready for the hysterectomy I have a little experience also, I am naturally going through menopause.

My daughter is on gonapeptyl and has an estrogen patch that she gets on with wonderfully. Because I have a womb I also needed progesterone, which my body absolutely detests, physically and mentally. My solution is now testosterone and Vagifem (I also have vaginal atrophy).

Have a look on the thebms.org.uk-testosterone replacement in menopause, it really explains the job of testosterone, it’s not just for libido.

Luckily for my daughter she gets on with estrogen but had quite a bit of fluid retention as do I at times. My Dr has prescribed furosemide which really helps. I only use it when I’m really bloated.

It’s so hard being a woman, and Drs don’t even have to take a module on Menopause to become a GP. I paid privately in the end, as my Drs were nervous about prescribing testosterone as it’s off license. There isn’t one just for women anymore, what a surprise. Testosterone also dampens down inflammation. Prior to taking it I was on 8 Tramadol a day for my M.S pain, I’m now taking just 4, I’ve been on 8 for years. It’s a good all rounder for strength, energy and libido.

I hope you can get things sorted, my daughter is so fed up of her life being ruined. She started her periods at ten, started to struggle from the age of 13. We saw a specialist at 14 who told her she was too young for it to be endometriosis. I’ve had endometriosis and explained that it was more than just painful periods, but no, they knew best and diagnosed dysmenorrhea for years.

Her schoolwork was affected, then jobs, which is an ongoing problem. At 21 we paid privately again for her to see a BSGE endometriosis specialist. During the laparoscopy he discovered that she was riddled with endometriosis and also had a unicornuate uterus with a non communicating rudimentary horn, nightmare.

So now 4 years down the line all they’ve been concerned about is preserving fertility. Yes she’s young, but she simply hasn’t had a life. Who are they to tell her that she must breed before being taken seriously, she desperately wants a pain free life. Her type of uterus anomaly means that her body can spontaneously abort at any time. There’s very little room for the foetus and would need a Caesarian, 60% of pregnancies fail by the sixth month.

She’s missing out on so much and just can’t get on with life. I wish you well and pop to your Drs and ask for some medication for fluid retention. All the best …. I wish you well 😎
