Hi everyone!! 1st post on here.
Has anyone who’s had the Covid vaccine please share your experiences after taking it. Did it make it worse or no change to ur endo.
I’ve read it’s exacerbated symptoms to some and I just wanted more insight.

I had severe fatigue for a day otherwise no issue. This was after both doses.
What's been happening to others with endo?
Hi TennisAM, may I ask, which vaccine did you get?
Hey LME5, I had the AstraZeneca for dose one and two. On reflection one period after the second dose was very heavy. But can't be 100% sure it's the dose as I have had awfully heavy periods many times before. Thankfully it hasn't continued since then. Recently the booster was Pfizer and I was tired for a day with arm pain for about 3 days. No other issues. Have you taken the vaccine?
Thanks so much for replying I've read a lot about heavy, painful bleeding post vaccine. For most it's one to two periods, for others it's affected them for months. I've not had the vaccine as I'm very concerned about it causing flare ups. The thought alone causes me stress. I wonder if endo patients can get exemptions from the vaccine. I had covid December 2020. It was pretty heavy, but I've had worse flus! Now with Omricon and reports of it being milder, I'm of the mind that I'll be alright without a vaccine going forward With your heavy period, was it only excessive bleeding you experienced? Was cramping/other pain more or less the same? x
Ah I see. I guess as you've had it before there's less chance of hospitalisation. It was just the heaviness, the pain and everything else was the same as always. The biggest concern for me was long covid and infecting others who are vulnerable I'm my family so I took the vaccine. I definitely don't want more fatigue etc than I already have. x
Hi,
I had a rough time after the vaccine and did get some abdominal pain, but not sure it was worse than normal. I had a bad injection site reaction, headaches, chills and sweats, most of which passed after 7-10 days.
Sick for 24hours after second dose otherwise no other effect
I have stage 4 endometrial cancer
Get the vaccine
Get the vaccine, covid would be considerably worse! But I felt fatigued for about a week after, more than usual. My arm was really painful the first time, not the second. Had some increased nausea and general body aches, similar to after the flu vaccine. Nothing overly difficult to cope with! Nowhere near the pain that I have with my periods, so it wasn't too bad. It may cause you to feel a bit unwell but it's really manageable try not to worry.
All I suffered was a sore arm for a day or 2 after it. I took paracetamol before the vaccine, maybe that helped x
I had a bit of a higher temperature the first night, nothing else, no increase pain or anything else.Well worth it, hope you get yours.
Thanks everyone for replying. I intend to take the vaccine, just wanted to kind of prepare myself if there’s anyway i can for the severe pain I experience with endo.
When I caught Covid last year my endo flare ups increased, I sometimes was getting 2 bouts of pain everyday last for 2 hours maximum, so I’m kinda dreading having to experience that again.
There were some comments on endometriosis Uk Instagram account regarding people’s experiences.
I was probably one of the comments you saw. Woke up in the night, 12 hours after my vaccination, with a dreadful flare. The worst of it was over 36 hours later and I will still be going back for my second jab next week.
Hi Spireite, I've done a search for vaccine-related posts as I'm yet to get mine (I've been worried about it affecting my endo after reading it worsened women's menstrual symptoms) and came across this post. Sorry to read it gave you a tough time. Do you mind letting me know which vaccine you got? Thanks
I had two doses of AZ then a Pfizer booster. I only had a flare up from my first AZ, the others have caused no problem. Having seen posts on SM by endo sufferers that have had Covid, catching it has caused a lot of them to flare up badly.
Thank you for replying I guess one flare up is better than 3! Glad you were ok with the second and third jabs. I had covid December 2020 and luckily didn't suffer with any flare ups. Now I'm comprehending having the vaccine so thought to ask about people's experiences as even women without endo have reported longer, heavier bleeds. Thank you again for sharing x
had both jabs (AZ), no difference.
