So from the age of 14 I started to get really bad pelvic pain awful period pains shooting pains, nausea etc they weren’t excessively bad but painful obviously, I went to the gp they said take paracetamol and ibuprofen. I’ve recently turned 17 and my symptoms are getting worse to the point where I am paralysed in pain from my hips ankles, knees stomach cramps nausea etc, I have been told to go on the pill which I tried however it made me not feel like myself and feel really quite down, I am not a fan of hormonal treatments however it does seem like my only option. usually every period I have to go into hospital to get my pain treated usually with morphine and it gets exhausting. I also get pains throughout the month and it’s stopping me from doing stuff teenagers typically would. I really would like a actual diagnosis as my gp and gyne both say that’s what it is but I would like the removal surgery of the endometriosis,if anyone has any advice or experience about treatments I’d love to hear them,
Thank you

Hi Daisy. Sorry to hear how awful things are for you. If your GP and gynae have suggested it's endometriosis I would insist on a referral to a specialist. I think the endo UK website have a list of them UK wide (BSGE centres). That should allow you to discuss all the options with someone who has the right expertise. Good luck!
I'm really sorry to see that your symptoms become worse recently. We have a document on our website that gives details of the different treatment options endometriosis-uk.org/sites/.... there are different hormonal treatment and you may find that by trying a different drug you will get some relief from your endometriosis symptoms without the unpleasant side effects you experienced before. The publication also gives some information about ways of coping with your pain.
Hey, I had all that at the same age as you love, I'm 30 this year and honestly I wish I had known years ago what all this was and got some help. Please push for a referral to gynecology so you can be properly helped, just because you're young doesn't mean they can fob you off! I would definitely recommend discussing with your gynecologist what treatment you could go on, maybe like someone else has mentioned it could be just that you don't get on with the one you tried. Other than that I definitely recommend a Tens machine, hot water bottles are amazing for pain relief too! Xxx
Thank you,I have a gynaecologist who I actually had a call with today just before the post, I am slightly low in vitamin D and folic acid and she refuses to do anything for treatment until it’s sorted however I am just slightly under not to the point where it would cause this servere pain which my doctor stated . I have been given oral morphine for the pain of my doctor and hope to get some sort of treatment going as I will be starting my first job in a few weeks, thank you for your kind words!
