Had my first appointment with a consultant today after my operation 8months ago. Feel very down about today visit.
Seen a new doctor today never seen him before he had not read my notes had no idea who I was and it was all very pointless.
He asked if I want another operation and I was like well if it’s come back of course I do like no one wants an operation but if I need one then yes. Obviously lose weight was one thing he said which they always say, started going on about my bmi then pointed out that it was not an issue for him because he was tall and skinny 😤😫
Sent me for blood tests and said he would order an mri and a scan but warned me that the waiting list was about 6weeks. It was all very pointless. Just seem to be swimming in circles 🤷♀️

I'm so sorry love, sounds like he needs to improve his bedside manner! If he makes a comment like that again I would make a complaint, after telling him that being tall and skinny doesn't give you a right to be a self righteous d**k 😉 sending love and hugs your way!
oh my god that sounds terrible. I had to deal with doctors like that in the past and it's soul destroying. It sounds like he has no idea about what endo is nor is he interested to know, nor was he paying any attention to your issue and why you were there. You have to keep strong, because sadly, many doctors will do this, and when it happens, you have to ask to speak with someone else, and keep trying. I recommend you to ask to speak with/ request for a female doctor next time, and ask her to put you in contact with someone with endometriosis experience. Trust me, you can, you have the right to do this, and you should. You should report the doctor that you last spoke with as it is mad he asked if you wanted another surgery like that. This is an intrusive surgery and not an easy experience for anyone's body, they should not just send people to do it like that. I'm so sorry you had to experience this. I don't blame you for feeling deflated and terrible, anyone in their right mind would. Take a moment for yourself, have a nice bath and do something nice for yourself, then when you've gathered your strength, try to find a different consultant to speak with next, and ask specifically for a female one, as she will be more sensitive to trying to understand this sort of issue.
Best of luck.
You can do this, you are not alone! xxxxxxxxxxxx lots of love xxxx
