So worried!!

I had a phone call a on the 22/7 saying my operation was booked in for the 27/8. I asked on the phone would I get a letter confirming my date of operation they said yes.

I still have not received a letter, I rang 3 people yesterday trying to get my letter and they kept passing me around, My manager is now saying he new nothing about my operation and still has me down to work on the 27/8 but I have text to him and him replying and I have told him in person.

I’m so worried someone has not done their job right and has not booked me in. If I had not been for my pre-op already and the nurse had not said your operation is the 27th I would think I had made it all up!!

It’s so wrong! I should not have to chase a letter this happened before I had to chase my mri results it’s ridiculous so unfair 😢😢

Hi I would phone my GP, tell the receptionist what is going on and ask for a note to be passed onto your GP. There may be a letter in the system for you and if not they can surely chase it up? Xx

GP is a great idea, they can contact the hospital through their system. If you know who is doing the op contact their secretary as well. There is a lot of disorganisation at present.

When you had your preop, did you get any paperwork? There should be a number on there for the admissions office, they should be able to help you if you can't get anything from the GP.

Speak to the pathway co-ordinator when you call the gynaecology appointments department - that's the person that books the surgery. Failing that speak to the secretary of the surgeon that will be performing your op x ... good luck x

Yeah I need the letter for my manager, so I can isolate before the op. My last day at work should be tomorrow but without the letter I can’t just take time off xx

in reply toXroisinellenx

Can they not even email you xxx

Hiya, ask your GP for a sick note to cover the isolation period if you haven’t had the letter through. You can also self certify for the first seven days which will give time for the letter to come through or the sick note to be sorted x

There should be someone else doing her job whilst she's on leave. Phone again and ask to speak with whomever is listing patients for surgery.

Everything was literally over the phone with me mo letters no nothing cos of all this xxxx

Finally got my letter guys! Gave it to my manager and he acted like a complete dick!

We had a conversation like 2 weeks ago about my operation and I said the rules have changed you don’t have to isolate just strict social distancing which I work in a supermarket I can’t do strict social distancing which he agreed with, but today he completely disagreed with me and said we can do social distancing when he was stood right next to me! So he made me feel really guilty about taking 2 weeks off before.

Then he said so what you will be back 2 weeks after your operation!! I was like no 6-8 weeks then he was like oh I guess I will just see you at Christmas then!!

And this might seem petty but when someone else was going off for an operation she got flowers and chocolates from the same manager I got nothing! I have worked there for 11years. 😢
