Hello lovelies, I hope everyone is well.

I have been keeping a diary of my symptoms and now have a doctor calling me this afternoon, but I know I’m going to get told that there is nothing they can do and that it’s all in my head. (Doctors are good at that🤦‍♀️).

All I can say is, this pain, is putting me in a very depressed state. I’m hoping doctors will allow me to tell them everything, but hoping for that is like waiting for rain in a drought.

I will update you guys after my phone call. But just needing some advice on how to get the doctors to listen to me. Any info/advice will be taken seriously.

I appreciate your help😊

Hi NickNak,

How did your appointment with your GP go?

Or if you've not had it yet, can you request a referral to a gynaecologist (hopefully one who specialises in endometriosis)?

Hello! I’m so sorry for not replying! I haven’t been on here since I done the update.

Gp appointment went well for a change, they have sent another urgent referral. GP told me that my symptoms link directly to Endo. Have got an appointment in the hospital next Friday at 11am with Gynae, but am having to travel out of my city to go there. (Which isn’t a problem). I am going to be taking the diary I have kept, and am hoping they will be able to do something!

Have you got any advice on what to say to them? It’s a long shot I know, but although my doctor has told me to request a laparoscopy, I don’t think they will do it .

Hi NikNak, It's good news you have an appointment with a gynaecologist! Hurray!

Here's the link to the Endometriosis UK page that has info on getting diagnosed for endometriosis:

endometriosis-uk.org/gettin...

The pdf on getting diagnosed has questions listed you might like to ask your Dr. They might very well offer you a diagnostic laparoscopy. 😊

Depending what your priorities are (e.g. Trying for pregnancy Vs reducing pain) there are different suggestions for endo management in the NICE guidelines. In hindsight, I would have liked to have asked about both routes (e.g. for some, there can be some pain relief through hormonal treatment, which is often contraceptive). Although there are some who have mild symptoms, for others, it can be progressive. So, it's an odd one because before they have a look with laparoscopy, it's hard to guess if it's likely to stay the same, improve a bit, or worsen a bit. Anyhow, when you ask your questions, you might like to ask what your range of options might be to try to manage endo, even if you end up on a surgical treatment route, you might like to weigh up the hormonal treatment options too.

I hope that helps. Good luck! Sending you good thoughts for an informative appointment. 😊
