Hello everyone,

I am usually a fantastic sleeper! I need a lot of sleep and usually have 9-12 hours a day. But since my last endo flare up, where I suffered with awful pelvic pain and sciatica, I cannot get comfortable and sleep at night. I constantly have a creeping/tingling sensation in my legs which feels like restless leg syndrome. My ribs are also constantly aching, as is my back and I still have pelvic pain. Does anyone else struggle with this? Any tips? My legs are bothering me the most. I’m on the list for an urgent gynae appointment, but as you all know, everything is on hold. A&E prescribed me strong cocodamol and naproxen, but I’ve been on them for 3 months now and the constant tummy upset isn’t worth taking them at the moment.

Thank you for reading! Hope you’re well! X

Hihave you tried drinking tonic water of an evening this can help with restless legs something to do with the quinine in itdid you get tablets to help tum while taking naproxen.....they should be prescribed at the same time to stop tummy upset..contact your Dr and get some so you can carry on with pain relief or ask for something stronger

take care

Hey hun

I have very similar symptoms to you - I didn’t find naproxen or mefenamic acid helpful at all (which is what my Dr swapped me to after naproxen) and codeine also upset my stomach - I went back to my doctor again last week and she swapped me to Dihydrocodeine as she said it can be kinder on the stomach and I’ve found it to be so much better! A friend also gave me some tramadol for emergencies (naughty I know) but this doesn’t upset my stomach either and I only take it before bed and I find it helps me get to sleep and is the most help with the pain.

A few recommends I’ve found help with sleeping- a V pillow helps because it can keep you in one place, which reduces my pain which I find worse at night when I’m moving around. Lavender essential oils in a diffuser, genuinely I’m not sure if it’s placebo but it without a doubt has a calming effect on me, I always feel more content when the diffuser is on. CBD Oil helps me to stay in a deeper sleep and I find if I wake up I can turn over and get back to sleep much quicker than when I don’t take it - again could be placebo but I definitely see the difference. I don’t have one personally but weighted blankets are supposed to be brilliant too.

I hope this helps and you get your appointment soon, take care and lots of love x

Hey, it's not a placebo, there are small studies that show that lavender diffused during the first three days of the menstrual cycle reduce period pain. There's also many studies on its affect on other pain x

Hey, I would suggest speaking to your doctor about something to protect your tummy. I took naproxen by itself for a while but ended up getting prescribed omeprazole as well to keep on top of potential side effects. As for restless legs, I tend to find a hot water bottle in the small of my back helps - good luck x
