Hello, I was wondering if I could get some advice relating to what I suspect is endometriosis.
I came off the pill about 7 months ago (partly to try to get pregnant) and only recently seem to be settling down. My last period was 5 days and had the worst cramps for the first 48 hours, diarrhoea and around mid day 3 the cramps seemed to restart for a few hours. I’ve since experienced what I think was ovulation but with this I was in agony- my back was killing, nausea, fatigue and diarrhoea again. I’ve also started to get pain deep in my pelvis when I am having sex. It feels a bit like something has been hit internally.
All of this is reminding me of exactly why I went on the pill for so long. My periods were like this for years and I was never taken seriously by my GP.
Should I go back to my GP? Has anyone else had similar symptoms?

I get all those symptoms and have been diagnosed with IBS but my gyne surgeon said this could be endo- find out on the 4th. Definitely push for an answer.
I was on the pill for over ten years put on it to control heavy painful periods......It did help my symptoms but it only really masks whatever the real problem is.....I'm 47 now waiting on 3rd op....hysterectomy removal of bowel endo and suspected diaphragm endoDon't be fobbed off by Drs you know your body and if something isn't right
get yourself a diary and start writing down your symptoms pains or gastro symptoms put it all in your book when you see Dr you've got good evidence to show them.
have a look at the NICE guidelines for suspected endo so you know what Dr should be doing
Same for me, I was in the pill because of horrific periods when I was very young and then came off and ended in severe pain again after 9 or 12 months I would say.
Start looking into diet that can help with pain (reducing red meat for example) and supplements so it can start to reduce inflammation while you push like mad to get your GP to refer you.
Dont be shy to use tactics like news data that states it takes 6+ yrs for woman to be diagnosed and you feel like you are becoming a statistic.... you have all the symptoms ... it may not be but its a good start to be taken seriously
I'm sorry to see that you are struggling with pain at the moment. Your symptoms could indicate that you have endometriosis, the classic endometriosis symptoms include:
If you don't feel that your GP will listen to your concerns then you could try seeing another doctor at the practice. We have information about getting a diagnosis and seeing a specialist on our website endometriosis-uk.org/gettin....
