Is it worth calling 111?

Still have no diagnosis and although negative laparoscopy, endo seems to keep coming up due to the symptoms I have.

On tuesday I started to get a pain just to the right of my belly button and it was like someone was grabbing something inside me really tightly in their fist, its really uncomfortable and has not yet stopped. I'm taking gabapentin for my daily pains and this I can feel over my daily pain. I take Microgynon30 back to back to stop my periods as my doctor advised due to heavy and long periods and worsening pains. I am taking ibuprofen to try and stop the pain a bit as well as taking long hot baths and using hot water bottles but I'm still having pain.

I can't pain scale it as I'm not sure what the "normal" level would be due to being used to being in pain and also being on daily pain meds for a year.

My family thinks i should call 111 to ask what they think but I've never contacted them before as I haven't had such a specific pinpointed pain before and I've never not been able to just go to my GP and ask him. I'm scared if I got to 111 they may say to visit a hospital but that would mean going alone due to lockdown restrictions and I don't like hospitals on a good day when I can have my mum stay with me the whole time...

Has anyone who has had a new pain like this contacted 111? Or contacted them in general? What is it like?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks xxxx

I had similar a few years ago and it just would not go so I called them, saw the out of hours doctor and then he sent me to a&e and they just said it’s endo, gave me tramadol and sent me home.

You can still speak to and even see your GP if they feel you need a face to face appointment - you could always call them on Monday if you can wait until then? Maybe try a hot water bottle / heat pad and some cocodamol? X

Hiya, thanks! I can't take any codeine products so no cocodamol and anything similar here so will just have to stick with ibuprofen. I'll keep hot water bottling and call my GP monday, that seems the easiest, thanks x

sticky heat pads tend to work better for the pain in my experience, maybe worth giving a try? i’m in the same pain boat with you. good luck !
